I work part-time as the IT, Computing and Media Lead at King Charles Primary School (previously part of Bentley Federation) in Walsall and have worked as a freelance Edtech specialist, offering support to local schools and organisations for the last 10 years.
At school, my role involves: managing IT staff, policies, Online Safety, budget, procurement, infrastructure growth, staff training, curriculum development and assessment. I deliver projects which include; green screen, animation, multimedia, school newspapers, computing, AR/VR and website design. I have managed the transition to Google for Education and introduction to Chromebooks. I work with all year groups in a cross curricular capacity to support teachers, develop integrated schemes of work and embed skills.
In previous roles I have taught Secondary Design and Technology and Art. In Primary I have taught Art, Design and Technology, ICT and Science. I have managed Creative Partnerships Projects and worked for Soho House Museum delivering student workshops. I hold a secondary teaching qualification from the University of Wolverhampton.
I have worked with children, adults, parents and other practitioners using a variety of tools and diciplines within the scope of educational technology. I am a CAS Master Teacher and ran the Walsall CAS Community to provide a support network for local schools. I have also delivered and National College of Computing courses for Primary teachers.
